When diagnosing an agraphia, there are 2 major types of classifications: ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ต๐ถ๐ฎ๐ and ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ต๐ถ๐ฎ๐โฃ

๐๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ณ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ช๐ข๐ด involve the language processing components of writing and result in difficulty with spelling. In a Central Agraphia, OCEAN may be spelled as โoshenโ and TIME may be spelled as โclockโ ๐ โฐ โฃ

๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ณ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ช๐ข๐ด involve the selection or production of letters in handwriting, and result in handwriting that is difficult to read. Always refer out to Occupational Therapy if you suspect a Peripheral Agraphia! ๐๐ผ โฃ
